• Baltic Porter, Batch 69
  This strong dark beer has hints of chocolate and black licorice. It was brewed with a lager yeast giving it a much cleaner smoother finish than a traditional porter. 7.7% ABV

  C-Son's Greetings
  Brewed and dry-hopped with all seven “C” hops. A deep copper color with a piney, citrusy, floral and resinous aroma. Full hop flavor with a rich caramel malt finish and an endless developing hop presence. 8.0% ABV

  Dry Hopped Condor Pale Ale
  Our Condor Pale Ale dry hopped with Centennial hops. 5.2% ABV

  Rosemary Stout
  Our Sockeye Stout that sat on rosemary sprigs for five days. A slight rosemary aroma with a licorice and chocolate flavor. 4.9% ABV

  Black Dawn El Salvadorian
  The third installment of our annual coffee stout. A rich, full bodied stout featuring strong roast and dark chocolate notes that play nicely with the dominating coffee presence, courtesy of more than 3 pounds of coffee per barrel. Our friends at Ristretto Roasters provided the coffee, cold pressing 20 pounds of the El Salvadorian roast. 7.2% ABV

  Centennial India Pale Ale
  A classic Northwest IPA brewed with crystal malts that give it a rich golden color. Centennial hops provide a floral nose and sharp bitter finish. 6.0% ABV

6th Annual Chowder Challenge

• Local brewpubs & restaurants compete to see who serves the city’s best clam chowder while raising money for the Community Transitional School

  Lompoc Brewing has announced the date for its sixth annual Chowder Challenge, an event that determines which restaurant serves up the best clam chowder in the city. A dozen local brewpubs and restaurants will vie for the coveted Chowder Cup at the annual Chowder Challenge on Saturday, February 25, 2012 from Noon to 4 pm.

  The blind tasting competition will take place at Lompoc’s Fifth Quadrant, located at 3901 N Williams Ave. Admission into the event is free. Attendees ages 12 and over must purchase sample trays for $10 to participate in the tasting. All of the money raised will be donated to Portland’s Community Transitional School, which provides important educational services to children who are homeless or otherwise at risk of school failure.

  A dozen samples of traditional New England-style clam chowders from the participants are served in non-labeled, two-ounce cups. After tasting all entries, attendees vote for their favorite. The chowder receiving the most votes will be named the People's Choice Winner and will take home the coveted Chowder Cup; awards will also be given for second and third place.

  Confirmed restaurants include Cascade Brewing Barrel House, Columbia River Brewing, D’s Bar, Deschutes Brewery, EAT, El Gaucho, Fifth Quadrant, New Old Lompoc, Radio Room, Rogue, Salty's and Trebol. The New Old Lompoc, known throughout the city for its chowder, has taken home the Chowder Cup five of the past six years.

  The festivities also feature a beer garden, live music, a soda garden for kids, Joe the Balloon Guy, a raffle with prizes from the participants, special beers, and pub food for purchase. Minors are welcome at the family friendly event. 

  Among the specials beers will be two offerings from LOLA, or Ladies of Lagers and Ales, a social drinking group for ladies who love craft beer in the Portland area. LOLA brewed a collaboration beer with Lompoc Brewing in December. Look for two versions of a Wee Heavy: Wee LOLA, and a version blended with a number of aged Lompoc beers for a woody, dry, slightly sweet and bitter ale, dubbed the Lolampoc Clan.

Annual Lompoc Shrimp Boil

Friday, February 24th, 6-8pm at Fifth Quadrant

• Join us for another installment of the Annual Lompoc Shrimp Boil on Friday night, Feb. 24 at the Fifth Quadrant from 6-8pm. Beginning at 6pm, seafood lovers are invited to roll up their sleeves and dig in.

  Admission includes a plate which includes shrimp, potatoes, corn on the cob and Louisiana spicy sausage. There will be spicy garlic butter available for dipping and Old Bay on the tables, plus special beers on tap.

  Tickets are $14 per plate, available as presale only and exclusively sold at the Fifth Quadrant.

Totchos of the World

January 23rd - February 27th at Oaks Bottom Public House

• Are you a fan of our Totchos? Do you consider yourself a bit of an adverturer when it comes to food? Then you're going to love "Totchos of the World" at the Oaks Bottom Public House! For six weeks, beginning Monday, January 23, and continuing every Monday for five weeks after that, we'll feature a new culinary Totcho treat from a different country. Order that week's Totcho (Monday thru Sunday) and get a passport. We'll stamp your passport for every country's flavor you try. Collect all six stamps, and you'll receive a free order of our regular Totchos and a Lompoc pint! Never heard of Totchos? Our traditional version is a heaping plate of tater tots smothered with cheddar & jack cheese, tomatoes, jalapeños, black olives and onion, topped with sour cream and salsa. Totchos of the World will deliver totcho-riffic variations from Italy, Cuba, Jamaica, India, Peru & Spain.

Night of the Living RED

An evening featuring all RED beers.

• Cherry Bomb
  Our Proletariat Red fermented in Maryhill Winery Port barrels with 40 pounds of sour cherries. It has a big cherry aroma with a fruit forward flavor and finishing dry with a touch of oak. 6.2% ABV

  2010 Franc’ly Brewdolph
  This Belgian style red ale was fermented with the Belgian Ardennes yeast strain in October 2009 and aged in Maryhill Winery Cabernet Franc barrels for 13 months. It was then blended in a tank with the 2010 Brewdolph. It has a creamy and malty body, a mild fruitiness and a spicy oak flavor. 7.6% ABV

  Roggen Roll
  This new world take on a traditional German rye beer uses two different types of malted rye along with flaked rye which creates the trademark spiciness and fatty mouthfeel. Roggen Roll pours a naturally cloudy amber color and is full bodied. 5.1% ABV

  2011 Fresh Hop Harvestman Red
  Brewed in September 2011 with 100 pounds of crystal fresh hops. It is malty and full bodied with a deep, rich red color. 6.2% ABV

  2011 Dagda
  A Pan-Gaelic Red Ale that has a malty body with caramel flavors and a touch of smoke with a tart finish. 5.5% ABV

  Proletariat Red
  This Northwest Red ale is malty and full bodied with a deep, rich red color. Proletariat Red reminds us that work is the curse of the drinking class! 6.2% ABV

• Scotch + Beer Pairing

Hedge House Monthly Pub Tales Contest

This months deadline: Monday, February 27th. Story Readings: Wednesday, February 29th, 7pm at Hedge House

• Join us in our monthly "Pub Tales" contest. How does it work? Visit Hedge House to find the featured photo unveiled on the first of each month. Then you make up a story about the photo - the story is to be comprised of 100 words or less and will be judged on creativity.

  Email your story to lompocbrewing@newoldlompoc.com by the fourth Monday of the month. On the following Wednesday at 7 pm, everyone is invited to gather to read their story - the winner will be announced that night. Winner's receive their story matted and framed with the photo to hang in the pub, a Lompoc T-shirt, gift certificate, and the opportunity to tell their tale on the Beer O'Clock radio show on KXL.
